Van Wijnen attends two robotics events in the Netherlands to bring new technologies to demo site Groningen.
Van Wijnen is tasked with the deployment of four BIM-connected robotic solutions: drilling robot, demolishing robot, a BIM-connected crane, and a waste sorting robot. The deployment of these robots is not standard practice for Van Wijnen and thus requires extensive market research, and R&D efforts.
To better inform themselves, Van Wijnen has organized numerous meetings with various robotic and waste sorting companies and attended two in-person events. In November 2023, Van Wijnen attended the Recycling Trade Fair (Dutch: Vakbeurs Recycling) in Gorinchem, and spoke directly with five possible partners, and previewed cutting-edge robotic technologies. This collaboration will work towards finding a fitting waste sorting solution for the demo site in Groningen starting April 2024.
In February 2024, Van Wijnen attended the exhibition Infra Relationdays 2024 (in Dutch: Infra Relatiedagen 2024) in Hardenberg, a knowledge and networking event for the entire infrastructure industry in the Netherlands.
The event provided a good opportunity to explore current industry trends and offered a chance for in-person meetings with potential partner robotics companies. One of the highlights was seeing the Fischer drilling robot Baubot and advancing discussions for a potential integration of the robot for the Dutch demo site.
