From October 7th-9th, InCUBE partners convened in Trento, Italy for the project’s General Assembly, hosted by Fondazione Bruno Kessler (FBK). The three-day event combined technical sessions, on-site visits, and interactive trainings that bridged research and implementation.
Day 1 began with a guided visit to the Trento demonstration site, exploring renovation works in the Santa Chiara district and the city’s adoption of smart retrofitting solutions. Partners also toured the MUSE – Museo delle Scienze, a landmark of sustainable design featuring photovoltaic shingles, geothermal heating and cooling, rainwater harvesting, and natural ventilation systems. Afternoon sessions focused on the project’s technical progress across work packages, covering digital twins, BIM integration, circular construction, and automation. The day concluded with a social dinner at Hotel Ristorante Orso Grigio—an opportunity to connect and unwind.
Day 2 centered on applied learning. RINA Consulting, together with the New Energy Coalition, led a hands-on training on the R-GUIDE—a digital platform enhancing on-site safety, efficiency, and sustainability during renovation processes. Later, FBK opened its doors to architects and engineers for a technical seminar highlighting Trento’s innovative heating and cooling systems, with contributions from Comune di Trento, Eneren S.r.l., and TERA Engineering. A World Café discussion followed, allowing participants to reflect on how these technologies can shape the future of sustainable construction.
The evening concluded with a matchmaking and networking session, pairing attendees based on shared professional interests. It was a fitting close to a week defined by collaboration, knowledge-sharing, and a shared commitment to driving sustainable renovation forward.
Day 3 was short and sweet, wrapping up the final internal work package presentations before lunch, and bidding each other a goodbye and safe travels!
